EVEN AND EVENK.
Closely related by both language and culture, the Even and Evenk are traditionally reindeer herders with a shamanistic belief system. After the Russian Revolution, most were organized into collective farms. Families that continue reindeer herding follow
the migrating reindeer during the summer. In winter, the children return to settled villages to attend school. | |
