                                | SUN The tilt of the earth's axis creates nearly 24-hour daylight for
six months of the year in high arctic regions. Time zones are irrelevant
when you're travelling this far north. On Wrangel Island in August, for
example, the sun sets for thirty minutes at about one o'clock in the
morning. From May until late July, the sun never sets.
