SVEN
The ethnic mix in Old Harbor is pronounced because many natives have non-native spouses; in fact, many of Old Harbor's 300 or so residents seem to be related to Sven's family. Sven's paternal grandfather was a merchant from Denmark, hence the name "Haakanson"; his grandfather on his mother's side was Norwegian. Sven's mother is one of 19 children, and she herself had 6, half of whom still live in town.
